Strengthen and Restore Your Smile With Dental Crowns

Why Your Tooth Might Need a Crown

What to Expect During the Crown Procedure

Exam and Preparation

Your dentist begins by examining your tooth to confirm that a crown is the best solution. X-rays may be taken if needed. Then, the tooth is gently reshaped to make space for the crown.

Impressions

An impression of your tooth is taken to ensure your crown fits perfectly. This is sent to a dental lab where your custom crown is crafted. In the meantime, a temporary crown will protect your tooth.

Crown Placement

When your permanent crown is ready (usually within 1–2 weeks), you’ll return for your second visit. The temporary crown is removed, and the new one is carefully checked for fit and color before being bonded securely with dental cement.

Final Touches

Your dentist will make minor adjustments to ensure your bite feels natural and comfortable. Once everything is perfect, your crown is set — and your tooth is fully restored!
